Enthronement of the 42nd Sakya Trizin

On 9th March  His Holiness Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, the oldest of the His Holiness Sakya Trizin’s two sons, was officially enthroned at the 42nd Sakya Trizin, or throne holder of  the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, in Puruwala in India.

Lama Jampa Thaye and Dechen Dolma were honored to be invited to attend the enthronement ceremony in India. The ceremony lasted three days, including a long life offering to the new Sakya Trizin and the traditional teaching On the Sage’s Intent by Sakya Pandita. His Holiness will maintain the position of Sakya Trizin for the next three years.

His Holiness has inherited the responsibility of leadership of the Sakya lineage from his esteemed father and Root Guru.  In doing so, he will continue to guide and inspire Dharma students from all over the world with his wisdom, genuine qualities of unaffected simplicity, humility and complete honesty, by presenting the Buddha’s teachings in the most authentic way, while maintaining the purest of Buddhist traditions.

His Holiness will visit the Dechen Center in Bristol, UK in May 2017, his first teaching outside India at the 42nd Sakya Trizin,  to give the 2 day empowerment of Medicine Buddha.
