Summer Retreat in France

This August Lama Jampa gave precious Buddhist teachings and transmissions at the Dechen retreat center in the the Dordogne region of southern France.  More than 100 people from Europe and North America travelled for the two week event, which featured one week of teachings and one week on Buddhist meditation practice.

For the first week Lama Jampa continued teaching Sonam Tsemo’s General ‘Presentation of the Tantra Sets’. This part of the text continued the explanation of the different levels of practice within Vajrayana Buddhism, as well as presenting a detailed description of the extraordinary Vajrayana view of what Buddhas are, including a more expansive understanding of Shakyamuni Buddha himself.

At the start of the second week Lama Jampa gave the initiations of Vajrapani Bhutadamara and the protector Mahakala. For the following two days he went carefully through the detailed instructions for the practice (tri) of Vajrapani Bhutadamara.

These Buddhist teachings included much that was applicable to Vajrayana practices in general and in particular enabled people to go on to do a few days of group practice at the end of the week.
