Update on H.H. Sakya Trizin’s teaching activity 3rd September 2009 His Holiness has returned to the phodrang in Rajpur following His extensive teaching tour of the past few months, which encompassed Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia and Mysore in India. Lama Jampa Thaye spoke on the phone to His Holiness whilst at Sakya Changlochen Ling to confirm the details of His Holiness’s visit to Dechen in June 2010. His Holiness is now attending the annual Vajrakilaya ceremony at Sakya Centre. Vajrakilaya is one of the principal deities of the Sakyapas and the transmission has been held by the Khon family for over 1000 years. The annual ceremony involves the construction of an elaborate sand mandala and ritual dances. His Holiness bestowed the “Higher Activity” empowerment of Vajrakilaya upon the Dechen sangha when he visited Sakya Thinley Rinchen Ling in 1998.
